THE VENERABLE SHRI DHARMAKIRTI has offered to teach the 'DOCTRINE OF EMPTINESS’. Ven. Shri Dharmakirti is an Indian Disciple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and a formerly ordained monk in the Tibetan Tradition. During the six years he spent living with his Guru in Dharamsala, he received the initiations and further instructions in the practice of Highest Secret Mantra, and was inducted into the lineage on Lama Tsongkhapa. After six years he was asked by the Dalai Lama to teach.
Shri Dharmakirti is the author of the book “Mahayana Tantra – an Introduction”, and now lives in Kullu Valley in retreat and occasionally teaches.
According to the teachings of Buddha, the only way to eradicate the ignorance that lies at the source of all our suffering and dissatisfaction is by cultivating insight into ultimate truth, or emptiness (sunyata). Far from being a nihilistic doctrine of nothingness, the wisdom of emptiness is the most powerful method for liberating ourselves from the misconceptions that keep us trapped in the perpetual cycle of recurring misery known as samsara.
In this introductory course, suitable for veterans as well as novices, the viewer will be given means for identifying, weakening, and eventually uprooting these imprisoning misconceptions. Also included in this course are instructions for combining these profound meditational techniques with cultivation of loving-compassion and the practice of purification.
It is a rare and precious opportunity to receive such profound teachings from such a highly qualified teacher.
The course is from 15th of January to 15th of February 2008, in GOA, INDIA. The fee depends on how many people are attending to sponsor this course, the more people the lower the fee, it will be announced at a later date. This fee is for the one month course only, and does not include accommodation for the participants. The teaching is free, but a certain amount is needed to cover organization, and travel and accommodation expenses for Ven. Shri Dharmakirti (and an offering for the teaching is always most appropriate). It is also possible to attend for 2 weeks only.
